Single-Wavelength sensors provide the average temperature of the measured target area. Short wavelength sensors are recommended to reduce or eliminate errors due to emissivity variation.  They are offered in a variety of configurations with a wide selection of temperature ranges, optics, and spectral response options.  The PRO 42 and 52 models feature a unique auto null design that enables more accurate measurements with short-wavelengths at low temperatures.

High Performance Features:

  • Temperature limits 0-4500°F (0-2500°C)
  • Accurate, reliable, repeatable measurements
  • Wide selection of temperature ranges, optics and spectral response options
  • Infrared filtering for glass, plastic and flame insensitivity
  • Visual, laser, and fiber optic alignment options
  • Auto null balancing for drift free operation
  • Fiber optics with low temperature capabilities (150°F/75°C or greater)
  • A variety of installation and protective accessories

The PRO 42 and 52 models feature a unique auto null design that enables the use of short wavelengths at temperatures as low as 100°F (40°C). This feature enables more accurate and repeatable measurements on applications such as cold rolled steel and low temperature induction heating applications where the metal surface has a low or varying emissivity and the temperatures are below 500°F (260°C).

Applications:
  • Steel
  • Heat Treating
  • Rotary Kilns
  • Glass
  • Petrochemical
  • Paper
  • Plastics

  • Rugged, Corrosion Resistant NEMA 4x (IP65) Enclosures
  • Stand alone and system configurations
  • A wide selection of accessories
Unique Features:

The PRO 42 models feature a unique auto null design that enables more accurate measurements on applications such as cold rolled steal and low temperature induction heating processes where the temperatures can go as low as 100°F (40°C) and the surface has a low or varying emissivity.

For most applications, the selection of the sensor is based on the temperature range and the optics that meet the requirements of the application.  However, some applications require careful selection of the sensor’s operating wavelength in order to obtain accurate measurements.  Frequently, the selection of a specific narrow band filter will result in a narrower temperature range for the sensor, but the benefit can be dramatic improvements in the accuracy and repeatability of temperature measurements.  Thoughtful wavelength selection is important in the following applications:
  • visually transparent materials, like glass or plastics
  • the ability to measure through flames
  • the ability to minimize the interference of water vapor or background reflections

PRO 50 Fiber Optic Alignment

The PRO 50 Single-Wavelength Sensors with Fiber Optics are used to measure most common materials in general purpose applications.  With the fiber optic configuration, it is possible to view a target and mount the sensor electronics in a remote or more convenient location.  This provides greater durability and flexibility with sensor installations that involve confined spaces and/or severe environments.

Standard Features:
  • A wide selection of temperature ranges and optics
  • Fiber optic alignment with a small, sealed fiber cable
  • Optional Integrated Aim Light to verify alignment
  • An Intuitive text based user interface
  • Programmable outputs and alarms for measured target and ambient temperature
  • Bi-directional RS485 and RS232 communications
  • Advanced system diagnostics and status messages
  • Rugged, corrosion resistant NEMA  4 / IP65 Enclosures
  • Stand alone and system configurations
  • A wide selection of accessories
Unique Features:

All of Williamson’s fiber optic sensors use a small, sealed fiber optic cable with an ambient limit of 400°F (200°C) to enable access to difficult to reach targets and to survive hostile operating conditions.  In addition, Williamson offers several unique fiber cable options that can enable measurements on applications that were previously considered difficult to measure.  This includes the ArmorGuard System, the Stainless Steel Braid System, and the Gooseneck System.

The PRO 52 models feature a unique auto null design that enables more accurate measurements on applications such as cold rolled steel and low temperature induction heating processes where the temperatures can go as low as 100°F (40°C) and the surface has a low or varying emissivity.
